Calvin Brandenburg

BRANDENBURG, Calvin L. 58, of Springfield died Sunday, July 22, 2007 in his home following a several month battle with cancer. He was born March 23, 1949 in Elkins, West Virginia the son of Calvin C. and Mildred L. (Louk) Brandenburg. Calvin was a 1968 graduate of Tecumseh High School and retired from International Truck and Engine with thirty-two years service. He then went to work part time for EMCO Transportation. He attended Southgate Baptist Church and was a member of Moose Lodge 536, Eagles 397 and the Union Club. Calvin had been an avid musician, playing in Country Rock bands for the last thirty-two years. He played the Pedal Steel Guitar in venues all around the Miami Valley, and for many years was in the Crystal River Band and most recently in the Rite Stuff Band. He also had a great interest in electronics and was A-Plus Certified as a Computer Operator and in Computer Networking. He is survived by his wife Fabenne (Valentine) Brandenburg, with whom he celebrated thirty-seven years of marriage on July 11, 2007; two daughters and sons-in-law Adrienne M. and Joseph Reisinger of Springfield, Andrea L. and Jeff McConkey of St. Paris, Ohio; one sister and brother-in-law Cindy and Willard Laymaster of Xenia; two brothers and sisters-in-law Charlie and Cathy Brandenburg of Eaton, Ohio, Curt and Valerie Brandenburg of Dayton; three grandchildren Andrew Reisinger, Mackenzie Brandenburg and Connor McConkey; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Sam Louk.
